He was advanced for his age and skipped grades in school putting him ahead of his time. He was married and divorced at an early age and continues to look for his soul mate till this day.
The death of Cliff's father due to cancer made him sing country music because as Cliff puts it, "The day my father died I went to the hospital and was there for the last few minutes of his life and the strangest thing happened.
"My Dad had always wanted me to sing Country music and I would laugh thinking it was funny I liked Country but never dreamed I could sing it. I turned on the radio when I left the hospital and Country music was on the radio and I had this strange feeling come over me. I sat there and began to sing along not knowing that before I could leave the parking lot of the hospital my Father had died.
"It was when I got the call telling me my Dad had died. I stopped my vehicle just as I was pulling out of the driveway of the hospital and cried. I then decided to make my Father's wish come true and sing country in his honour so he can be proud of me from above. As time progressed I got better and began to love Country music like he did when I was a kid. So if any ever asks me if anyone has influenced my singing I tell them yes My Dad."
Cliff Allen according to critics that have reviewed him and said that he is like a young Elvis Presley combined with a bit of Toby Keith, with a bit of Tim McGraw with a bit of some classic Country singers such as Merle Haggard and others. It has been said that his sound is all his own however and he puts on a electrifying performance.
He has appeared on various TV shows and even made an appearance at Skydome September 5, 2004 where he sang the American and Canadian national anthems before a Toronto Blue Jays game a cappella where he made a mistake singing the Canadian anthem in front of 28, 934 people and papers across Canada picked it up citing the fact. According to Cliff he said "the echo in the dome made me lose it. The jumbotron was also slow. "He has also made appearances on Canada's music station Much Music performing on Fandemonium dressed as Elvis singing Avril Lavigne.
He is currently working on releasing a single and hopes to have it out late spring of 2008.
